Things in Kathmandu are slowly returning to normalcy and that is a good thing. We can’t let the economy stand still for too long.
But from the urgent reports we are still getting on quakemap.org, it is very clear that areas far away from the center still require lots of help. We are getting some reports of people being forced to drink muddy water and people needing helicopter rescue.
It takes only a minute, so I want to teach you how to use the system to get information about the most urgent reports that need immediate attention.
1. Go to quakemap.org
2. Click on the “Filter Reports By” button on the map and click on URGENT
3, The map is going to reload and who only the places where help is required immediately. Click on the triangle to hide the filter.
4. Now you can click on one of the bubbles and click on the link that is displayed on the map to see the details of the report and dispatch the necessary resources.
5. Read the description, try to contact the person who submitted the report and provide help
A big thank you to all the volunteers who are working day and night to save lives. Keep calm and stay safe.
